I wanted to see if anyone had any success with this. I wanted to re-install my copy of Star Wars X Wing Alliance to my new PC running Windows 7 64-bit. I was able to install and run the program using this guide: X-Wing Alliance Installation on modern Operating Systems tutorial - Mod DB
But is it possible to run this program without having to insert the game CD each time? I ask, because I've had this CD for many years and it's got a bit of wear and tear. I'd hate to not be able to play the game in the future because there are too many scratches on the CD. I would LOVE to be able to run this game without a CD, similar to Steam games.
