ricanflow Golden Master Messages 6,317 Location Euless, Tx Feb 21, 2009 #15 Yeah im pretty sure a tri-core at 4.3 or 4.4ghz will be faster than an E8500 at 4.6ghz due to the extra core, even with a 300mhz slower clock.

gurusan Golden Master Messages 6,562 Location Portland, OR Feb 21, 2009 #16 We shall see, I have a feeling I'll be sticking with my wolfdale for awhile. Also where are you getting these 4.3-4.4ghz numbers from? The highest stable x3 clock I've seen is 3.9ghz. In 99% of apps out there my wolfdale will be faster at 4.6ghz...

But that's on air, with water I m sure you could hit 4.5ghz or close. As far as the last comment is concerned, your probably right. But more games will support the extra core down the line anyways.

If it's true then I might be tempted to change over but I'm going to wait and see first.
