As soon as almost ANY game loads and the visuals come up aka; league of legends loading screen finishes and the visual game comes up; WoW process loading bar completes and you see your character; GTA load screen completes and you see Niko... the computer SHUTS DOWN.
It doesn't restart, it shuts down. Prompting me to remove the powercord or the power button on the back for 10 seconds for the PSU to de-power.
I have checked the event viewer and have found the following errors:
Critical: EVENT ID 41 / Kernel-Power
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
The temps are all under 50C, fans properly working.
The only thing that it could theoretically be is the power supply which is 8 years old and has a lifetime of 80,000 hours. I recon it has served me at least half of that.
Besides that I really don't know what is going on.
Suggestions?
EDIT: MY PC SPECS ARE:
AMD x955 @ 3.2GHz
Gigatbyte mobo AM3+
12 GIG RAM
120GB SSD
1TB HDD
DVD-RW
GTX 560 2 GB version
500Watt PSU ANTEC (SMART POWER 2.0) (8-9 years old) But worked just fine for last 6 month)
