It looks like the images we posted earlier were accurate, Microsoft has launched a shiny new 250GB black Xbox 360 that is a lot smaller than the original. Engadget has dozens of pictures of the new console, I snagged these two images to whet your appetite:

Xbox 360 Slim Teardown & Noise Test

The crew at PC Perspective have taken apart one of the new Xbox 360 S consoles. I like the way they did an audio comparison between the old Xbox 360 and the new. I don't want to ruin it but there is actually a big difference. Make sure you check it out.

I own both systems now, I have to say that the noise difference between the too is considerable. After playing on my 360S and then moving into my room to watch netflix, or play in bed it, its almost obnoxious how loud the old one sounds in comparison. Really, the 360S is what the 360 should have been. Better late than never?
