need a dvd player that plays back everything

im looking for a new dvd player, hopefully not too expensive, under 100 dollars or around there. i want it to play files that i burn to discs like divx and .avi files. all of that stuff. any suggestions?

$100 won't do it. You'll need a DVD player that supports all media. They are not made by Happy Harry in Singapore!!! Do some research. Burn a DVD and take it to Best buy or the like and try out their demo machines and find one that works for you....I'll guarentee you that you'll need more than $100!!!!! Caution: Don't take in your porn...it will probably load up on the multiscreen and you be writting us from the houscow!!

No! Check out the comments in the review section.....don't waste your money. Do as I said, take a DVDr or VCD to Best buy etc and see which uint plays the format youare having difficulty loading!

I got the PHILIPS DVP642 dvd player about a year ago and I have had nothing but success with it. It has read every type of dvd and cd that i've thrown at it. My only complaint would be that the universal controller that came with mine doesn't have an eject button but that is ok. For the $60 price tag, you really can't beat it. get the norcent divx dvd player
its around $50-$60
you don't need a $100+ for a divx player
thats just wasting money
i've been using my norcent player for over a year
and got it on sale at buy.com for $40 with free shipping
works great
