I'm making this thread more so as a reference for myself, or a log/journal of sorts. It's also a way of sharing my results with my rig in overclocking and benching with you guys (if any of you care, lol). It's the first computer I actually built and even the first time I overclocked, so this seems somewhat neccesary to me (and exciting). It'd be great too if you guys can share some advice as to how I can improve performance.

Stock Specs:
Intel C2D E2160 @ 1.8GHz w/ stock fan
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
2GB OCZ Platinum Revision 2 PC2-6400
Sapphire 256MB x1950GT (500/600)
Thermaltake TR2-430W
NZXT Apollo ATX Case
The build cost me about $590 (CDN) with the MIR on the ram. Right after the build, I was playing Bioshock on maxed settings (in DX9 though) and some other pretty PC-intensive games. I was happy with that much. I built my PC maybe a week and a half ago, and it's been sitting on stock specs for too long, so last night I did some overclocking.
I ran some benches before tweaking anything, just so I can see what kind of performance difference I'm getting. Some of the benches are weird (3DMark01 and 2000...), I know, but it's all I really have access to and I had plenty of time, and I was curious to see what kind of result I'd get with hardware overkill on almost 8 year old benchmarks So here goes:
CPU-Z Specs
ATI Tool
SiSoftware Sandra
(That P4 was my old processor, that's why it's in the bench)
3DMark 2000
3DMark01
3DMark05
3DMark06
Company of Heroes Performance Test
Counter-Strike: Source Stress Test
Video Settings: 1280x1024, All Details HIGH, 16xA, 6xMSAA, HDR Full, VSync and Color Correction OFF.
Average FPS: 115.84
Overclocking's coming in the next post, will update probably in the afternoon.
oh and here's some pics from the wire-management thread:
