Multi Booting.. What to install first?

I plan to have Windows and few Linux distros (Kubuntu and Suse maybe) installed on my future computer (which I will build this weekend after my exams).

The question is..

Which one do I have to install first? Windows? or Lunix?

I just want the boot loaded to work and worrying if one of them will overwrite it.

Also.. Anyone heart of this software Acronis? It is some kind of boot manager? Any one used it?

No matter what you do one of the boot loaders will be over written. Since Windows can not boot Linux and GRUB can not boot Windows. There is a way to make it work but i do not know how.

So if you wish to keepGRUB for Linux install Windows first. Also try EasyBCD from NeoSmart Technologies only if you plan on using Vista. It will not work with XP.

yeah I agree with the poster above me. Load windows first. Cause windows will overwrite the mbr if you dont , then linux wont boot at all.

Usually loading windows first then linux works pretty well.

Install Windows first, Linux's bootloader (GRUB) can boot Windows as well as Linux, but Windows's bootloader only boots Windows.
