MP4 to DVD

is it possible to burn a .mp4 video file to a dvd and watch it on your dvd player? If so is there free software I can download somewhere that can do this? Thanks in advance

That all depends on your dvd player.

mine plays a wide range of media formats, so I would convert and burn to a compatible format.

There are abunch of free utilities, you just need to know what your dvd player plays.s

Like pat said above, you can check what format your DVD player plays and burn it to any; as you asked for a free MP4 to DVD, I've found Free MP4 to DVD Converter - convert MP4 video to DVD.. Never used but it was the first search on Google. Converters I use on my laptop are Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate and ConvertXtoDVD 4, both are trials if you don't pay though.

Most burning software will do the conversion. As Jo said above, there are free options for just conversion.
