What other vendors sell popular servers? How do they stack up against HP?

Dell and IBM come to mind.

We use dell, used to use hp. Dell is pretty solid imo, we have 620s and 610s in a m1000 chassis. Solid performance and reliable.

My company generally uses IBM SystemX servers. The most common being the 3650. They make wonderful ESXi hosts especially in raid 10. I love them. If a client wants to get things done on the cheap, then we go towards HP, but never ever Dell.

We use a variety, a few dells for our VOIP, DNS, Mail, Web hosting, IDS units, etc, but our most important servers are the IBM Power systems where I work. AIX running on all of those. I gotta say IBM makes finding and downloading the proper firmware a breeze. The downside? Flashing them for the firmware updates is the scariest experience ever. Thought I bricked our $1500 NIC the other night doing a firmware update.

we use a mix of dell and HP and IBM, Dell has been the best for us. we are looking at moving to Cisco UCS though.
