I went to buy a truck toy for my kid. and googled it at the store to show the sales guy.
come home an hour later and right about that time as I searched for it I see a "suggested post" on facebook offering me to buy that same truck I searched for.

wtf is going on here.

how do I disable that crap. I don't want to see everything I search for show up on facebook

Your porn won't show up, don't worry. Unless they pay to advertise.....

But, I'd assume clearing the caches should fix it. You never said what you searched on, phone, or computer, and what browser.

Use an ad-blocker and cookie blockers. I recommend Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin.

Oh wait... you're an IE user - enjoy your lack of add-ons to help protect privacy ;).

But yes, like paton said, it's cookie / search / IP based ads. If you don't want to get your searches tracked, use a different search service other than Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. Duck Duck Go is one of the more popular ones that protects privacy.
