internet start up?

My computer has suddenly started stalling on start up. sometimes takes three/four attempts. Have tried disconnecting power, worked yesterday but not today. Took four attempts this am to get on line. I recently installed Norton, could Norton be the problem? Have started to leave in sleep mode, can't stand the hassle.

I would uninstall Norton first to see if that fixes the problem.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

replace it with MSE
http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

If that does not help what os are you running?

Do what Hefe said, also you can download CCleaner and clean out your PC after just to get everything out (unnecessary stuff).
