Internet Proxy's

I trried to do a searched but proxy would not come up. Anyway I would like to use a proxy when I surf the internet to help keep my identity unknown. I've tried NinjaProxy, FreebieProxy and a few others but these are websites and then you have to type in a url. I would like to find is one that works in the background silently through the browser. Does this exist? Thanks....

Yeah, there are a couple solutions.
Well, I think you have to set up your own proxy... but I'm not exactly sure how to do that. What I did find out is that there are programs you can use that do that for you...

First, if you have Firefox, there are a few "tor" proxies you can install, I've tried FoxTor, but went another way. You can find it add-on sections on the firefox pages.

I ended up using tor/vidalia/privoxy bundle WITHOUT the FoxTor.

FoxTor is an easier way to turn it on and off, but it didn't work well for me, and I just learned how to use tor through my browser.
