Some games just dont recognize DX10. They dont recognize the other installs for some reason. Maybe because they are older or whatever. I jsut know that Doom 3 is the major culprit in this. As is Nero 7. They both insist on installing DX9 while they isntall. Unless you put these runtimes on first.
I dont know for sure that they overwrite the DX10 install. But i do know that i had some problems with DX10 stuff after i ran those installers.
