It's I beleive $60 something a month from Comcast w/ channels.
It's only $10/mo more than the 4mb/xxxkb so I figure why not.

Anything cool with it? Download stuff and browse the web. lol

t1 is 1.5mbs i think

But we have like 1400 kids sharing a single T1 up here so half the time its as slow as cable or even slower. They say DSL can reach 1.5mbs so wouldn't T1 be a lot faster than that? I never saw specs for anything higher than DSL/Cable.

Today's cable or DSL is faster than T1. T1 has a max of 1.544Mbps. However, with a T1 you are guaranteed this 1.544Mbps continually, and you have the same upload as download. Thats why its so expensive. With cable or DSL, you can get slowdowns at peak times and don't have near the upstream bandwidth that you do down.

I just ordered DSL so thats why i'm interested. Does DSL get faster download speeds for like movies and music or does cable? I've heard so many myths I don't know what to believe.

Cable does, unless you get DSL extreme. DSL here is like 1.5Mbps max while cable is 6Mbps max. DSL though has an advantage because the bandwidth is not shared, so you aren't going to get as much slowdown at peak times. Plus, DSL is much cheaper usually.
