control panel > network connections:
1. right click on "Local Area Connection" and select properties.
2. double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
3. In the new window, select "Use the following IP address"
4. Fill 10.1.1.1 into the IP address feild, and tab into the subnet mask feild and it will be automatically filled in.
5. press OK, and OK again in the Local Area connection properties.
6. Go back to the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties and select "obtain an IP address automatically"
7. Press OK, and OK again.
8. Done. You should have a new IP address now.
