Source How To Change The Speed Dial Size In Opera

The development team of the Opera Internet browser introduced speed dial a while ago in the web browser. Speed Dial displays up to nine websites that are added by the user as thumbnails whenever a new blank tab is opened in the web browser. This gives the user another possibility of visiting popular websites without having to access the bookmarks or typing in the domain names or keyword shortcuts directly into the Internet browser.
Speed Dial is displaying nine website thumbnails in a 3×3 matrix. Some users of the Opera Internet browser might want to change the speed dial size to display additional (or less) website thumbnails. This can be done by editing the speeddial.ini configuration file that is found in the Opera profile folder. Windows users find the file in the Application Data folder.

Yes this task is easily accomplished. Just add this code to the speeddial.ini file:

Code:
[Size]
Rows=5
Columns=7

Insert the amount you want in the Row and Columns for the amount you want. Let it be noted that doing such can cause 2 issues.

1. If you reinstall and dont save the speeddial.ini before you format you will have to edit the file again and add your websites back again.

2. If you use the Opera Sync that is offered in Opera 9 and above only the first 9 speeddial items are saved in the Sync Profile. So not backing up your speeddial.ini can cause you serious issues upon a reinstall or a new install of a OS.

I know this from experience. Even on a fresh install you must either remove the speeddial.ini file and copy/paste over the one you have saved or open them both up and copy the one over the other to get it active. Opera can NOT be running at the time or the changes made will not be seen till after you close and restart the browser.
