How can you tell if BIOS password was hacked?

Some computer motherboard allow you to press esc to bring up a list of boot priority to choose from so there's way to boot to a CD or floppy even if the harddrive is first. There's no way for you to tell if they used a software...where will the information be store if they did? Unless they reset the configuration then it would be obvious to you that someone had tamper with your computer.

Hackers don't want to get caught, and they usually find the easy way in. If the hacker has physical access to your computer he can just open it take the harddrive and connect it to his laptop via a USB external drive and use some software to retrieve the information he needs. Best bet is to lock your case, put a password for everything to make it harder and longer for the hacker. Not going to say it will stop the person.

Just FYI guys.. I can get into 99% of BIO'S that are password protected.

Without using any programs and or pulling out any batteries.. People fail to realize that there are little things called "omnipotent" passwords..

I thought that you can disable drives during the boot sequence? Is this not true?

"If your using windows as an OS on the PC your screwed, as long as the user can run an exe you can clear the CMOS."

Is there a way to stop this in the boot setup?

Also what would failed login attempts or other forms of tampering look like in the event viewer? Are key loggers a good idea also?
