Ive finally decided to ditch my 1994 monitor and go lcd, but im having some trouble choosing an LCD monitor because I've got a hard time telling why some cost so much and some so little even though some of the lesser priced ones seem better (for the same size).
The one I think is best is this:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1490749&CatId=167
the other one that im looking at is:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1337730&CatId=0
What I cant figure out is why are some monitors priced so much more on tigerdirect even though they have worse contrast ratios and response times? Is there something I'm missing that makes either one of these inferior to other monitors? I'm thinking the ACER one because it has a good contrast ratio, and a slightly better response time. Can anyone shed some light on what I should purchase in terms on a gaming LCD monitor?
-Also how do LCD monitors look when they do other resolutions other then their native ones? Because I plan on playing games like doom, FEAR, half life, counterstrike not on 1280x1024 but probably on 800x600 or 1024x768.
I am a bastard about image quality and can really notice small things which will drive me crazy. Image tearing really bugs me so I dont want any of that, or any ghosting.
