I ran across this forum and have to say it seems friendly! My name is Rick and I am studying for a BS in Cyber Security and Forensics. I just completed my Comp TIA A+ exams, passing both the 901 and 902 on the first attempt:D

I joined this site to learn from some of the experts out there as finding answers to questions are not always easy. Far to many forums are replete with derogatory comments on a persons question and it quickly goes down-hill from there into a personal attack n the individual. I was happy to see this site controls and disciplines for those behaviors. So, thank you for that!

I am what some would term a life-long learner as I have retired a couple of times and have previously completed a BS in Professional Aeronautics and a Masters in Quality Systems Management. You just can't have enough knowledge (not to mention it keeps the mind active and young).

The first thing I would ask from the forum is some advice on building a new system, with some fairly complicated specs. Is there someone in particular I should be seeking advice from?

I look forward to learning and hearing from all of you!

Rick

Welcome to the site. Cyber security is definitely an interesting field. Just curious, and you're free to not answer, but do you plan to work for the US government?

CarnageX is one individual I can vouch for on this site. However, tech specialists are spread out across the site. Moderation is excellent here, and people who provide false/unreliabe information are generally stopped before they cause any harm.

If you want to ask questions about building a system, you should start a topic in this section New Systems | Building and Buying - Techist - Tech Forum

Be sure to add as much detail as possible! Don't be afraid to use full terminology. Remember that you will be given advice based on the details provided. I'm sure you know all that but I just like to be thorough personally. I hope you enjoy your stay :)

Welcome, Rick! You'll get the input you need from several folks when you make the post. Generally, PP tends to handle the builds. He's the resident build guru. ;)
