its as simple as this people...on a hot ass summer day...do you face the fan away from you to 'pull the heat through your face' no.....use some common sense here.....you'd obviously want the fan blowing ONTOP of the heatsink so it pushes the air that's currently excited with heatmolecules out of the way for new molecules to become excited and move on...this is the heat RADIATING off the heatsink and you're moving it along and keeping that radiating heat moving away from the heatsink inside of sitting around it still...that's just a minor part of it, but yeah killian can explain it the best.
