I dont know if this is in the right thread, but here goes.
Comp Specs:
4gig ram
AMD Phenom Quad Core 9950
Windows Vista --> 32 bit
ATI Radeon HD 4550
SB audigy sound card
Don't have mobo specs atm.
Every time I try and play a video game, and I mean ANY I get random lockups. First noticed it while playing games on Steam, would happen every 30-45 seconds. My games would play, I wouldnt crash, but I would lag like crazy, however my connection to the internet is fine. Im running a 20 meg HSI speed direct connected to the router. I just recently updated the router's firmware, thinking that might be the case, however the problem wasn't solved.
I then tryed playing a few games offline, thinking maybe it's not a problem of the connection with a sever or my internet, however I still started to lock up. Keep in mind these games are older ones, I tried using Warcraft 3, followed by Civilization, then tried things as simple as web based games, even MSN games locked up my comp.
I have updated every driver on my computer, am considering buying a new video card...even tho this one is only about 2 months old.
I just need some help, I can do NOTHING gaming related on this comp...and gaming's what I built it for.
If anyone has any advice let me know.
Once again, I've already updated the firmware on my router, and updated every driver on my comp.
