Game making question? (which language)

hey, is it possible to create a game like: Overkill using Visual Basic? or would i have to move to something else like C++ or C? im learning VB in a class right now and well im really ahead so im just wondering if its possible to create something like that.

If you're using Visual Basic .NET, then it probably is possible. However, I'd recommend that you switch to C# if you want to use .NET for creating games similar to what you've referenced.

yea, we are just using visual basic 6, since im ahead of the class ill ask the teacher to give me some C# stuff to learn.

its possible to use VB to make a game like that although its can be more difficult. C# is a possibility, c++ can take awhile and longer to learn so might want to avoid that until your ready.

there's also things like Darkbasic, blitzbasic and purebasic all of which are specialised for making quick and easy games. It uses variations of the basic language and has its own built in commands.
