I'm dealing with a MacBook here. It's a 10.5.8 machine. There is no red light within the audio jack. If I plug in speakers, it's fine. If I leave speakers unplugged, I simply get no sound. However, when I fire the computer up initially I hear the Mac startup sound.
I cleared PRAM, updated the system with any system updates that were available, etc. Just not sure over what happened?
EDIT - Fixed. Evidently the resolution was to take a prong of a plastic fork and twisted it around in the port. After several minutes of doing so, it magically started working. Uh. Okay? Whatever.. It's fixed. Thanks guys.
