yes or no? if a certain website or URL is blocked by firewall, can that website be viewed? or it wil give a screen like bad gateway or URL blocked? pls help... thanks.
 
Yes I believe firewall can and will do that, it's call filtering webpages base on content. Depending on how high you set the firewall filtering level to, it will filter out most webpages that fit the description. And yes it can still be view if you set the level lower or turn it off. If you are using IE, check your internet option. If you're behind a router in a workplace or school, there is a reason why they don't let you go on certain pages but there are ways around that.
 
A firewall with an access-list would not do that, but that would happen if their using a proxy server which is more likely
 
A firewall can be used to block access to websites. however this can often be gotten round by using a proxy outside of the firewall.

trying to access a site blocked by the firewall will just time out; however there is no reason why the firewall couldnt be configured to return a page saying "page blocked" if that was how it was set up.
