FireFox will not display web pages after Proxy configuration..

After configuring the advanced settings, Firefox will not display any web pages such as Google, Facebook or Yahoo.co.UK.. Is that because their security in place on their end or is it a problem on my end.. I've routed the Proxy threw the IP Address and Port but will not let me connect..

Can anyone tell me how too configure it properly? I was thinking about a VPN but decided I wanted too use a Proxy for the time being..

Maybe this will work? Never used proxy settings in Firefox myself. Either that or check on the Mozilla site for the information. they should have it all there.

After configuring Firefox too run threw a Proxy Server I have got connections too all the web pages I visit regular but my question is after selecting the host server and port number and telling Firefox too use this Proxy for all connections, I'm curious how I can be allowed too access these sights with apparent anonymity..
