DVD R/W not reading right?

dvd burn will never read or rip a dvd fast, despite what they say. dvd roms do. Buy you a cheap $30.00 lite on dvd-rom to rip your single layer dvd at 16x speed and your dual layer at 8x. all dvd players rip dual layer dvds at a slower rate than a single layer dvd

this has been a little secret in the dvd burning worlds for years

Well the DVD i was trying to make an image of was a single layer dvd rom. Its supposed to read those at the fastest speeds but i only get up to 3x. kinda sad.

that is normal for a dvd burner. they have a better explaination at
www.dvdrhelp.com. I forgot what the reason is though.

my pioneer dvd burner has a read speed and a rip speed and the rip is way slower
