The option to write and read dvds has suddenly disappeared...Im using win xp sp2 and have a samsung SH-R522C dvd/cd rom. This device is the only one connected to the ide cable. It was working fine for about 2 weeks. I can still read and write cds but nothing happens when i insert all types of dvds. I dont even receive an error message. Bios recognizes device and in device manager it says device is working properly!!
I have so far done the following to try and solve the problem..
1. Purchased a new dvd drive
2. Changed ide cable
3. Re installed windows clean install
None of the above has worked. My computer is nearly brand new , not more than 2 months old.....
Any suggestion greatly appreciated
