Doom3-Hardware Update

I am going to be getting Doom3 within the next few days, and I know that the game is really dependant on a powerful PC. I was wondering what upgrade I could make to my PC to give me the most preformance in Doom3 for under or around $300. Here are my specs:

Ablit NF7-S Mobo
Athlon XP 2600+
1 GB PC3200 DDR, Dual Channel
Segate 60 GB 7200 RPM HD
MSI GeForce FX 5600 128 Mb

Wrong , its not that dependent on high end computers, It will be nicer on them but it still looks better than 90% of the games out there on medium settings which is amazing.

On your system it should run at medium settings at 800x600 with easily playable framrate.

Even on medium settings its graphics will have you awestruck.

If you really wanted to upgrade Id get the new Nvidia 6800 if you perfer Nvidia or go with the x800 by ATI only problem is the new drivers for the ATI cards still are nott running doom 3 as well as Nvidia drivers are at the moment.
