My first personal computer, not one I had to share with my family, I bought from them.
All I can really say is they didn't do me no harm. I got the tower quicker than what the sheet said. They only problem was after a year of use, my vid card - ATI radeon 9200 SE burnt up, and it looked like it had done it under a manufacture's sticker. It's still beatin along, not too many problems. Minor stuff that I caused, that's really all.
I agree...if you have the ability, build one yourself. If you don't or are learning, they seemed alright to me.
A friend of mine in texas uses them for his source of towers for his consulting business. Got a heck of a deal with a small bit of an exclusivity contract...but it works for him.
