I'm after a new computer that will be used 95% for gaming and 5% messing around on the internet.
Firstly, let me start by saying i know very little about computers and i wont be building it. The person building it is a family friend who owns a shop building PC's.
I have a budget of £1,200 (i'm not sure what that is in dollars/euros) The machine is for AAA games like Dawn of War 3 and MMO's with large scale combat.

The shop has e-mailed me these specs (i will literally copy and paste them):

INTEL I5 7500, 16GB DDR 4 ( 2 X 8GB KIT) , DVD RW, ATX TOWER, 500 WATT PSU, MAINBOARD TO SUIT, 240 SSD AS PRIMARY HDD, 2 TB WD HDD AS SLAVE, WINDOWS 10 HP, NVIDIA 1050 TI 4GB VIDEO CARD, IF YOU WANTED TO UPGRADE TO INTEL I 7 CPU, 7700 ADD £90, SYSTEM HAS INTERNAL ETHERNET IF YOU, WANT WIFI ADD £24
Price = £999.00

If you know how to make it better within the £1,200 budget please advise me.
I've been recommended to go with the I5 7600 or Ryzen 5 and 1060. Would any of these be better?

(sorry for being so clueless.)

Firstly, get them to name off the components brands like the PSU, GPU, and SSD. Having the model of motherboard wouldn't be a bad idea either. I feel like for that money you're being gipped so want to make sure they aren't taking a lot off the top just to build.

To give you an idea, here is a list for UK under budget with similar quality parts and a 1070.

Well, if you was to build one for yourself with the same budget what parts would you choose?
Then i can get a price of her on your build and see what she charge, cause i really don't know what to do.

Well you can already see that for your money you can get better parts, namely the GPU which is what you want. Build wise, it all depends on what exactly YOU are doing. Personally since a 1080 and R5 is in budget I would go that route. It also depends on what monitor you have.

If you have a basic 1080p monitor with a 60hz refresh I'd drop the 1080 for a 1070 and get a bigger SSD to pair with that 2TB drive. Here is the list I would go with for 1200 lbs.

You get a quality PSU you won't have to upgrade, a good placement case (I chose it because I have it and it's nice), a bigger SSD, and a good cooler that will allow some overclocking later.

No I don't. I actually went from 6 cores back to 4 myself because I just didn't need the extra power for gaming.

This is becoming far more stressful than it should be. I also asked on Reddit and 1 person likes the first build bu with a I5 1600.

Because i'm currently using a 1080p monitor people were suggesting getting a 1070 but i may may upgrade my monitor in the future so maybe a 1080 would be best. Would you agree/recommend this?

Out of the 2 builds you recommend 1) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rpcjQV and 2) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/hTKdWX ... Which would be best for gaming.
I'm told the second is better but it needs to be 1080 if i wish to upgrade monitor.
And lastly, 1 person from reddit has come up with this and i'd like your opinion.
