That way, Windows can't screw up your readings.

I got a Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu LED CPU cooler. When I first installed it, I defintely saw a decrease in temps. (About 20-25 degrees F.) Now, when I am not running any major programs, and the PC has just started up, the temps begin to climb from 59C all the way up to 79C. Why is this happening? Could there be something wrong with the airflow in my case? Something wrong with the thermal paste? CPU cooler? Arghh..this is really frustrating..
