cd erase

a shreader. The only thing to do is to destroy the disk. they cannot be rewritten to. If there is something I am unaware of I would love to know.

No. If there is sencitive data on a CD-R, I normally :-
- Snap the CD in half. Careful as they shattler. I normally point then in side a bit.
- Rub them watch at work. It scratches the buggery out of them as the wall is a very rough and uneven surface.
- And if I have my dremel and some time to kill, there is PowerLabs High Speed CD-Rom Experiments

The only way to erase the data is to resort to physical violence.
 
they're not really that expensive...depending on brand.

I recommend Hewlett-Packard.

Or go for DVD-R's, they're cheap.

Yeah.... like they are about 50c now days. They are not like the $10 per pop thing that they used to be 10 years ago
