i'm working with the state as a operator for the printing industry environment. I have been doing the position for a year and I am wondering where to go next. With my background, it is difficult to get to the next promotion for career advancement in the state. any recommendations what to do next? i keep hearing sometimes it not what you know, its who you know to get the job. i am going back to community college taking some IT courses in the meantime and I am still applying for IT positions with the state. am i doing the right thing? i hear you need to stay for 2 years before moving up to another position it is bad to jump from job to job. any advice would be helpful. i also have a degree from heald college back in 2002 with computer information technology. i know that the school went out of business but are private industry taking these types of degree to get into entry-level IT environment? thanks
