Hello,

I am heading off to a lan in a week or so and was wondering if i could connect my gigax1008 switch to another gigax1008 switch using either a straight ethernet cable or crossover to allow for more connections, can this be done?

Are there any implications to watch for, should it just work first time? I have not fiddled at all with the switches, firmware etc.....

The specs for the switch mentions that it has "Auto MDI/MDIX detects for straight or cross-over cabling"

Heres the link to tthe switch

Here is a diagram of what i mean

Sweet, i was pretty sure it would be straight forward, as these switches are 100% plug'n play after all.........one thing though, should i be able to use any port, as none of the ports are actually labelled.....
