boost cell signal with wireless router??

Is this for real? My ex wife works for sprint and says there's a gadget that you can use with a wireless router to improve your signal. I googled and it didn't look legit. Of course, ex-wives aren't EVER wrong.

Since they use completely different wavelengths, I'm guessing no. But I'm no expert.

However it might be able to make a VoIP call via the router.

Not sure how it works exactly but sprint had a crappy signal at a friends house and he just happened to have a sprint phone, He called hoping to get out of his contract with them but they sent him some thing that looks like a router that receives the phone signal and transmits from there at a higher signal strength, But I don't think it's a router, just looks like one.
