I got Ubuntu dual booting with Vista on my dad's vaio only problem is is that the bluetooth mouse won't work. There is a bluetooth icon in the corner but when you fiddle with the preferences you can't really do a lot with it. I've tried the hcitool scan command but that does nothing. Can anyone offer advice?

Cheers.

No nothing showsup however it's updatin g to 8.10 so hopefully it should work..

edit: The update to 8.10 didn't change anything

Its built in, the chipset is mobile intel 945gms, the model of the bluetooth chip i don't know.

Ask on the Ubuntu Forums. They helped create it. They should know how to solve it. We are not experts like they are. ;)

I have, no-one replied to my question and it's on about the 3rd page...:p

Don't worry about that. They don't mind a friendly bump every couple of days. I've made threads 2 years ago that occasionally, somebody finds them and responds to them, despite their age.

I wouldn't sweat it. Give it a couple days, if nobody responds, bump the thread. From my experience as long as you're not psychotic about bumping it every hour for a month's time, they don't mind.
