Bluetooth keyboard wont connect...

I have a microsft bluetooth keyboard that is being found by my bluetooth manager but when I try registering the device I have a problem. A popup comes up asking to type in the 3 to 5 digit passkey (randomly generated) on the keyboard and then press enter. When I press enter nothing happens, the window just sits there. The only option is to close out of the window and try again. I've tried all different passkeys and used the other enter key in case the key was stuck. I restarted the computer and tried different batteries. Any ideas?

Are you able to try it on another computer?

I haven't tried it on another computer because I can't access another yet. I'm on my phone now. Another note to add is that the keyboard was working fine until I restarted the computer.

I tried everything I possibly could. The Bluetooth connection guide didn't help much. I tried the keyboard on a different computer and it didn't work there either. Is the keyboard not working or is it the bluetooth usb device?
