Yeah so here's a new one. Ping is a lot higher, but it's also mid- afternoon when traffic is a lot higher also.

And yes for those wondering it's Fiber Optic. And i'm not paying anymore for then I was with the standard cable service I had before. Woot!

Last night I DL'ed a 650MB demo from a high speed server in just about 3 minutes flat.

how come I have a fast *** download speed but whenever i try downloading something im usually getting about 120 kb a sec, where are some good servers or websites i can download somethin and really test??

you can only download as fast as the server can upload the file to you. check your speeds with bit torrent

I am with Time Warner, the only cable provider around (I can't get dsl). What do I get for $45 every month? About 200kb/sec down, 44kb/sec up. Pages timeout often and the cable goes out of service sometimes.
EDIT: I get spikes of lag over 10 secs (10000ms) in games. It is usually about 100-400 though.

Looks like my upload speed is still pretty competetive at least, around 700kbit/sec at the nearest server

There is a difference between a bit and a byte. 1byte = 8bits

It appears that this test is measuring in bytes, judging by the units (kb/s vs kbps). I have not taken the test so I don't know for sure.

EDIT: I feel stupid now.. The tests are in bits.

For some reason I don't believe this is my ACTUAL speed (of course I think it's lower), but anyways:
