Would it be better to run SMP on my E2140, or stick with the GPU on the HD 3870?

Both... Look into enviromental variables for ATI cards. It'll cut cpu usage to bout 10%. Then run the smp.

I run a smp on th e2180 at stock, with an 8800gt.

Okay, only if its not needed for anything more than basic stuff

Hmmm, one annoying thing with the smp was you had to leave the terminal window open. I just wrote a script to hide the window, but is there any official way you're meant to hide it?

Nope.. er sactually, its possible to run as a service... but i think its tough.

Your method is the best way though.

Well here's the script in case anyone else needs it. You'll need to download autohotkey.
After downloading autohotkey and the script, edit it (right click, edit) to match your fah directory (instructions included in the script)
Then compile it (Right click, compile).

How do you use those? lol, and how long do they take?

You setup a smp with -bigadv and it'll pick them up... should run in 2 or 3 days and bwith bonuses can be ike 70kish.

Actually I don't think it's recommended. Coz if you just set it up with -big it'll still pick up the advanced units, but if you specify the -adv part it'll ONLY accept advanced units. Which isn't good. Because there'd be times where those units won't be available.

OR that's what I heard anyway, please correct me if I'm wrong...
