avi files are shut down media player.

2 days ago i begining to have a problem with some of my media files (avi type only) , each time im tring to play one of them i get an error message from media player and it shutting down it happen even if i press the right mouse button on those files.
i tried running the files with other players and nothing worked. i check the codec with gspot and the codecs were installed (again some of the files has already been played on my pc , some are new since the problem start so i cant play them as well).

anyone know what could that problem be ,and how can i solve it , please dont tell me i need to format my pc , i done it 3 weeks ago.

Perhaps the problem lies within the files themselves, and not the codecs or media players.

The media files might be corrupted from some type of virus. Update your virus scanner and do a virus scan.
