Anyone know where to get directx 7 files?

Uhm K. I've had issues with games not working before in dx10/11 and all I had to do was download some sort of dx 9 files and extract them (something about the old libraries just added to the new ones and the game ran better by using the old ones).

So I'm trying to get fallout 1 and 2 to work but it's just giving me horrible color discoloration. I've tried every compatibility mode and setting there is for that. So I remember how I solved that sort of issue (wasn't discoloration ..just huge black bars cutting off a lot of the screen) with the dx9 thing...and this game required dx7 so I just thought I would try doing the same for that.

I found this website Directx 7 Free Download

but I really don't know which or if any of those would work for this.

Find a game thAT ran with dx7, and 90% of the time, it was packaged with dx7.

yea it wanted me to install it but it didn't do anything (and it done the same thing with the dx9 games, i still had to find the old files though and it worked)

EDIT: Downloaded and installed the files the same way I did with the dx9 thing but it still didn't work


Any other ideas on how to get these games to work?
