The development build last Friday introduced a new feature that took many people by surprise: Allowing acceptable ads. Sorry about that, I am usually trying to announce large functionality changes in a timely manner but that didn't work this time. As of Adblock Plus 2.0b.3277 the current state is:

•“Allow non-intrusive advertising” option is enabled by default for all users but the ones using privacy filter lists (EasyPrivacy, Fanboy's Tracking, Adverisity Privacy). The documentation explains why it has to be enabled by default.

recently i found adblockplus for chrome. However, im hesitant to install both on a older vista lp.

It's easy to switch off though, just a case of turning the option off in the settings.

And lol, saw this comment somewhere else:
"AdBlock Plus, now with Ads!"

so someone got paid offf..... figures...
Wouldn't be surprised that were the case, it would've been Google who paid; the vast majority of basic text ads would be AdWords.

OH NOES! Google makes all their money from ads. It is no shock that they would want their Ads to be left alone. Plus who cares if they were paid off? It is their right as the developer of the product to do what they see fit. If they get money in return for leaving ads in so what? That is their right. If you dont like it, learn to do this stuff yourself and code your own extension. That way you can get paid off too. Then you wont be talking down to others when you do the same thing for a large amount of money.

Who gives a flying flip if there is small text ads? My goodness it wont kill you to see an ad every now and again. They are all over TV. A 30 minute show has as at least 10 minutes of ads in it. An hour show has 20. So who gives a flip if you have to see 1 small text ad on a web page? It is the web pages right to try and earn money. It isnt free to run a web site, why should we be allowed to not try and help them earn some of that money. They get money for the ads just being shown, they get more for clicks but they do get money for them being seen. So it isnt wrong that they try to get some of their ads seen and money made to help pay for what your looking at. Get over it, nothing in life is free or ad free anymore.

if its text only ads im fine with it.... but if they start allowing flash ads or any those annoying blinky sezure inducing ones then that's when people will rage.
