A Big Mistake, File changed a bunch of files

Alright so I "downloaded" this file. It came in a split archive, such as .001 .002 .003 [Its Winrar btw] and stupid me went threw and changed everyone of those to .rar. Now I need to know how to undo this, as the file now won't unzip unless I have these files .001 etc. [82 files in all]

I can't seem to ctrl+z my way out of it!

sure, you can only ctrl z once wright? and on one item I believe...
you have to manually change them back I think...or redl

but I don't know...I don't mess with the stuff
however, if I recall vaguely, you dl those files and there is some "master" rar? then you dlick on the master rar and it goes from there? This is memory that's maybe 10 years back

A 12 gig file. Ha nah Anyways I fixed it, just had to do a little manual fix of my own.

Go to start, then run. 
Type explore press enter. 
Then go to Tools, then folder options. 
Click View and then under Files and folders uncheck 
"Hide extensions for knowen file types". 
Then just rename it from "Blahblah.zip" to "Blahblah.001"
A selection will come up and you select Yes!

Took me around a day [18 hours] It wasn't bad, but then I find out this game lags and freezes on my comp, so that 18 hours was wasted

huh? winrar use 4 processors if you got it. I unrar 5-6 gigs in some minutes

No the unzipping take no less the 5 minutes. Just the hole download time time took forever.
