Nvidia has informed their partners of a new GeForce 9800 GTX+ graphics card that will offer better competition against the ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card. GeForce 9800 GTX+ will be clocked at 738MHz core and 1836MHz shader compared to 675/1688MHz for the current 9800 GTX card. It will be priced at $229 while the GeForce 9800 GTX price will fall to $199 level. The card will offer support for GeForce PhysX and CUDA-based applications, including Folding@Home and Badaboom video transcoding applications. Expected to release in mid July.

Seems really good. Are the price drops going to be immediate or after awhile? I've noticed that the GTX has already dropped like $30. Was going to get a 9800 GTX for my build, but this GTX+ looks promising.

This isn't coming out until July, so that gives AMD a couple of weeks headstart before this comes out.. but this is a nice card :)

So my main question for Nosboost-man: still going AMD GPU's w/ x38 or no?

yes.. i will be purchasing my x48 ddr2 next friday

nvidia is just too darned expensive for my taste right now... ati is a SUPER contender for such a cheap price.. with the 9800gtx+ coming out.. i know we'll see some hd4850 and 4870 price drops... and i look forward to those...

i'll be able to buy 2 4870's for the price of 1 gtx280

Dude.. get an X38 and flash it! no x48.. waste on the money!

I think it works on every x38 that has a variant of an x48 (but ultimately its your decision)

the cost was pretty much the same for x38 and x48..... the dfi lanparty lt.. they both were about 220-230.. so i don't see why not

and random question

blue dye... green dye... or orange dye...

actually.. maybe i should get red... i am going with ati this time around... hrmm.. but then i don't think red looks good with purple (the uv light)

so i think i may do green... or blue... so hard to choose.. but i got another few days before i make my color decision.. lol
