i don't believe it... its coming from the same benchmark that says the x1650xt beats the 7900gs in Unreal Tourney.... the x1650xt doesn't beat the 7600gt... why would it beat the 7900gs?
but it'll be tiny bit slower than the gts 320mb (which will be discontinued) if you say 8800gts its the 640mb
Whaat!? Maybe as in a few months later, I think we can expect 350 for the 512 version. Either it will be more expensive, or it won't perform as well as speculated. Think about it, Nvidia wouldn't ever sell any other 8800 card again, unless one wanted to SLI two GTXs or Ultras, and it may even cut into higher end 8600 sales.
Either way, I'm an advocate for less energy and less heat emitting hardware, and if it at least keeps up with the 8800GTS while doing those things, and is cheaper, then one has every reason to wait and buy an 8800GT. Now, it beating or keeping up or close to the GTX .. that's a bonus.
I'm going to be ****ed if the 8800GT ends up getting owned by the 8800GTS and I just waited 2 weeks for nothing -_-
How do you know that's the 8800GT for sure? In addition, I'm not liking the fact that it's appearing underneath the 8800GTS, as if it's worse in performance. I can't buy the fact that it's going to own a card which costs twice as much, especially when the 8800GTS is still virtually "new".
