I am deciding between getting a 7800gs or a 6800gs
But here is my problem...
one is $70 more than the other on an AGP system.
If i sacrafice this money for a 7800gs i would only have 700mb ram
so is it-
1. 7800gs (with) 700 mb ram
</OR\>
2. 6800gs (with) 1.5 gb ram
Wats so good about 7800GS, cause when i over clock 6800 i would have
16 pixle pipelines and is that extra technology such a boost in preformance
(RIGHT NOW I HAVE A)
x300 radeon
2.8 ghz P4, 1mb (L2) cache
agp motherboard
756 mb ram (2 slots left)
$300 to $350 upgradable money range
here is the different specs of both
7800gs no overclock----------------------------------------
460 MHz
$300
16 Pixel Pipelines
400 MHz RAMDAC
256 MB, 256 bit DDR3
1350 MHz
43.2 GB/s Memory Bandwidth

Integrated HDTV Encoder
High-Precision Graphics
NVIDIA CineFX 4.0 Engine
NVIDIA Intellisample 4.0 Technology

NVIDIA PureVideo Technology
NVIDIA UltraShadow II Technology
Single Dual-Link TMDS Connector
6800gs (FULL OVERCLOCK)---------------------------------
400MHz
$220
16 PixelPipelines (when unlocked)
400Mhz RAMDAC
256mb, 256 bit DDR3
1100 MHz
35.2 GB/s Memory Bandwidth
*******************************************
CineFX 3.0 Engine
Shader Model 3.0
UltraShadow II Technology
Intellisample 3.0 Technology
Hardware MPEG-2 Encoder Hardware MPEG-2 Encoder
Other Questions
Basically is it worth the $100 extra dollars
Does all of this new technology really help preformance?
And if i were to wait for it to get cheaper, how long would it take?
Which setup would make my system run faster on Games like BF2
And Call Of Duty2? ?without the extra ram?
I appreciate any help or support you give me,
THANKS IN ADVANCE
