Surely there's satalite? Granted, it'd cost a friggin fortune, but still well worth it :p

Obviously you haven't used satellite Internet. It is not only a fortune, but the speeds are freaking slow, and there is a cap of 168MB per day. If you go over 168MB, they will cut you down to 20kbps for 24 hours. They advertise 512kbps of bandwidth, but on average you get 100-200kbps down and 10-20kbps up. If its raining, you might as well count yourself out. All this for a lovely $100 per month, and a $600 install fee. Way to go, DIRECWAY!

Aren't there other ISP's? The satalite here is £30 / month for 576k uncapped from BT (Normal is £20 / month) ...

Anyways... anything's gotta be better than 1k :p

either way it sucks and i can't afford satellite. i'm stuck with dial up because cable/dsl is 20 miles away, and like i said before, i can't afford satellite. :( :( :(

well don't give up though because dsl keeps going farther and farther out these days.

i use to live 30 miles within the closet dsl line and within a year they had it to my house.

so you never know.

plus i'm sure satelite will improve in speed and price.
