Looks like you set the pwd for the router configuration interface instead of WEP. Try logging on the router with whatever you tried to set the WEP security to.

So new people to wireless should wait for cheap 802.11i enabled devices or go for the interim WPA? Problem being i guess as WPA + 802.11i become the standard WEP based devices will be dirt cheap and far too tempting not to purchase.

I don't really have too much experience on the wifi front, but from what I've read the weaknesses in WEP are directly proportionate to the length/complexity of the key or password/phrase used. So with a big beefy key you should be cool. You often catch rogue devices trying to use your AP ?

That sounds annoying. When you say the security is shit, are you referring to the weaknesses in WEP or some other area?

Are you on a wired network? Is your machine attached to a network with a wire? Or are you using a laptop? Or possibly a PC with a wireless connection?
