You could try increasing virtual memory, or try working from another pc.

I bet to second this - your system files seems corrupted so a format looks more like the way to solve things- not the only way but the recommended way right now I think.

Yeah I agree with you somewhat - but don't put your all in AVG, not all apps are perfect. Norton is known for slowing down people's pc/laptops, not doing a good job of protecting their system nor finding viruses etc... Try to get a safer and much better antivirus.

My question is: WHY DO YOU NEED SO MUCH ANTIVIRUS ON YOUR SYSTEM? Maybe two is way enough, but all 3 and 4? come on guys! My recommendation if you feel you need more antivirus apps, two at most! Sometimes when you have more than one you are stirring up a war on your pc between the apps. Soon...

Well when I had a working laptop I used to use it for school work, games(like unreal tournament, fifa etc.), and photo and video editing, programming and so on. I prefer a laptop over e PC because of its potability and because I'm always on the go.

It seems most of us have heat problems- so whats the best solution- esp to persons who can't afford to buy the cooler and what will happen to your laptop over time if the heat problem is not dealt with?

I bet to 2nd this- why you so eager to hide it? If you do basic hiding like renaming a folder and he finds it just call it a day. He knows why he doesn't want you playing em games...

Well I use firefox on a machine that has 128 of ram, 300 processor speed, and it loads the pages much faster than IE. So because of the low memory that I have I use firefox. Plus at times I use GPRS to connect to the internet and pages in IE takes ages to load, while the pages in firefox loads...

Well I use GPRS to connect to the internet most of the time, dial-up is faster than it. And I use AVG as an antivirus- I must tell you that it takes little or no time to update- don't even realizing that is updating. Tell her to check her version and install a newer version and then update.

hmmm interesting comments- i just use robbing alcohol or just mount em- only had 3 disks damaged b4- none by me. So its a good advice not to lend out your cds- let the ppl burn them... your cds are better in your hands- if they r good :)
