Thanks, I actually hadn't thought of that before posting. My bad. I still feel people might be better off having it spoiled before coming to it themselves, but it's best to have the tags so it doesn't happen when they aren't looking for it.

Alright, final update... GParted worked like a charm, and i'm doing a fresh install of windows 7 on the new HDD now. It sucks that I have to reinstall all my games/software and redo all my customization, BUT, at least i'll have a functioning computer again... Thanks again for all the help...

I do have a bootable Ubuntu usb that I set up a while ago to try it out, so i'll use that when I try to save some the data. Hopefully i'll actually be able to get at some of it.

I did check to see if it had a fever, it was running cool as usual. I did notice, however, that it is making a slight, but constant, grinding or scratching noise while it's spinning. I'm honestly unsure if it ever made the sound before, but the fact that it's constant and I can't remember...

Hello all, My computer has been misbehaving and freezing for anywhere from 3 seconds to a couple minutes at random times lately, and earlier today it locked up to the point that it wouldn't respond to any input at all, so I forced it to shut down with the power button, and when I booted it back...

It really shows how bad the internet speeds in my area are when I see people complaining about getting 3 MB/s download speeds.... I live in Nova Scotia, and have the best internet package available where I live; the highest download speed I have ever seen is 850 KB/s. Not to mention the package...
